Sadly, I don't get comments
As you can see, I pretty much hate the system and I'm glad to be out of it. I am somewhat a product of the system since I've spent at least a decade of my life in it.
Given the tremendous impact exams have on a student's future, it is no surprise that exams are regarded as the most important event in a student's school life. However, one cannot avoid pondering whether examination is really that essential to learning. The worst fault of examinations is their lack of reliability. A good student may be sick or mentally upset while a dull student may do well by correctly 'spotting' a question.
Those few hours are not a reflection of my intelligence or understanding of the subject. It just shows how well I have put in that answer sheet what the examiner wants as answers to those questions in the limited time. The exam system was created to measure abilities and understanding of the subject, now it just the other way round, understanding and ability of the subject is modified to maximise performance in exams.
In this rat race for grades and certificates, exams can no longer be considered as a reflection of my abilities. In fact, they just show that in that limited time, under those given conditions I was able to produce what the examiner wanted.
So to all those that have embraced this exam system, you have no right to blame its products. Don't blame the player, blame the game.
Quote of the day : I wish more people would conform to stereotypes so I could be more racist.
